
Our 8th graders arrived in Washington D.C. on Monday evening and had an enriching first day of exploration yesterday. They visited iconic landmarks such as the White House, World War I Memorial, Washington Monument, Museum of American History, Natural History Museum, and the Lincoln Memorial. Today, the students will begin their day at Arlington Cemetery.

Boyne City Public Schools and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan are partnering to provide mentorship to local youth. The program started last school year with 6 high students mentoring 6 middle school students. After last year's success, this school year the program has expanded to 18 high school students mentoring 18 middle school students. Recently, the group had a year end celebration with the students walking downtown to enjoy ice cream together.

The BCES 3rd Grade classes had a great time last week when they traveled to Mackinaw to watch The Jack Pine Lumberjack Show. It was a day packed with Chopping, Sawing, Axe Throwing, Log Rolling, Speed Climbing and then a relaxing lunch by the water! #boynepride



Each year, BCHS Physics teacher Mrs. Clausen takes her students on a field trip to Cedar Point, where students have the ability to apply the concepts they have studied in class and apply it to the "real world" as they study motion, momentum, potential and kinetic energies, velocy, and other Physics concepts. BCES is super excited to announce the Rambler Cup Recipient this week- Kindergartner Lena Herrmann from Mrs. Klooster's class! This is our way to celebrate when a student is trying their best to be Respectful, Responsible, Caring, Safe, and Kind with a prideful love for school. When a student is awarded the Rambler Cup, they take it home for the week and their name will be engraved on it at the end of the school year. #boynepride #boyneinspires #boynecares


We are having our annual plant sale this Wednesday from 3-6 pm in front of BCMS. Plants include: specialty peppers, a variety of tomatoes and vegetables, annual flowers and perennials as well as herbs. We have garden projects made by our 5th graders AND we are giving away seeds and perennials to help create Monarch gardens in our community. Please join us, rain or shine!

This year's Future Educator Academy completed their final in-person meetup with a Digital Portfolio Mock Interview, reflections on how they might offer words of support for next year's class, along with hearing from guest speakers from the education industry. Next week, students will say goodbye to their classroom placement students and teachers. We are proud of their accomplishments this year as they explored a potential pathway in education!
