The senior all-night party is a terrific tradition put on by the Boyne City Graduation Celebration Committee and 10% of all sales will be donated towards this wonderful evening!

Congratulations to our BCHS writers who placed in the Crooked Tree Center for the Arts Young Writers Expo! In the High School Prose category, 1st place was awarded to Freshmen Georgia Kreiter. In the High School Poetry category, 1st place was awarded to sophomore Sophia Eaton, 2nd place to junior Josie Wilson, and 3rd place was awarded to senior Lucy Uy! The BC Blaze Robotics Team recently wrapped up another successful season. A huge THANK YOU to our advisors, Missy and Krale Schroeder, for their leadership throughout the season. This past Saturday, the team traveled to observe at the State Competition at Saginaw Valley State University, where they connected with other teams, brainstormed ideas for next year, and visited with college row. #boynepride #boyneinspires

12 members of the Class of 2024 have been selected as this years honorees of the Lake Michigan Conference All-Academic Team! These 12 students are selected based on a formula that combines their overall GPA thru 7 semesters, as well as their Spring SAT score from their Junior Year. Today, they will be honored at a ceremony in Charlevoix, alongside our other LMC school's honorees. Boyne City High School Students Advance to State DECA Competition Following wins at the District DECA competition in December, the Boyne City High School (BCHS) team is off to the state competition in Detroit, Thursday – Saturday, March 14 – 16, 2024. At the December conference, held at Grand Valley State University, the team competed against eight high school districts, covering the westside of Michigan. “I’m very proud of our students. They do an awesome job representing BCH and it is great to see them compete,” shares Myra Bryant, Boyne City High School Teacher and DECA Coach. “A special thank you goes out to the local business professionals who have helped train the kids in live scenario practice and have given advice to help prepare them for their competitions. In addition, we have also had some key chaperones and judges who have worked hard to make sure our kids have a great experience. It is so great to see our community support our DECA program,” Bryant adds. Prior to the district and state conferences, students are required to take an on-line test that measures knowledge of business and leadership. The district and state conferences provide an opportunity for students to show their problem-solving skills through role-play and presentation events. These two areas are then combined in a final score to see if the students competing will move onto the next level of competition. “Out of Boyne City High School’s 16 students who competed at Districts, we had 10 who earned medals for the Boyne City High School Chapter this DECA season,” Bryant explains. “We also had a great group of students competing in their first District Conference role-play events.” -Competing in their first roleplay were: Claire Jones, Mallory Morgan, Katie Hunt, Jaelynn Elzinga, Sarah Eaton, Kacey Gray and Peter Mastin. -Earning a qualifying position, in an individual event, at the State conference in Detroit are: Sarah Eaton, Brianna Ager, Adonae Patton, Norah Frasz, Jacquelyn Dunlap, Jaelynn Elzinga, Grabrielle Dunlap and Katie Hunt. -Earning a qualifying position, in a team event, for the State conference in Detroit are: Malorie Carter and Chelsey Hertel, Kacey Gray and Peter Mastin, Ava Tarsi and Maureen Hautz. A team send-off will be held at Boyne City High School on Thursday, March 14 at 8:30 am, prior to departure. If you see these students, be sure to congratulate them on their accomplishments! The District basketball game that was supposed to be tonight vs Kalkaska has been postponed until tomorrow 2/29/24, with a tip off of 7:00. The girls Varsity basketball game vs. Bellaire scheduled for tomorrow will now have a 5:00 tip off. If you have already purchased tickets via GoFan.co, they will be transferable to tomorrow’s 7:00 game.

Congratulations to the Boyne City Ramblers Varsity Boys Bowling: 2024 Boys Regional Champs !!! Division 3, Region 17

Congratulations to the Boyne City High School Band on a truly outstanding performance Friday night at District Band Festival. Not only did the band earn its 7th straight First Division rating but their challenging concert performance earned all A and A+ ratings from the judges with comments such as “What a mature sounding ensemble,” “Impressive,” and “An absolute joy to listen to!" Developing our next generation of leaders is important to BCPS! These BCHS students spent two days in East Lansing at the MHSAA Women In Sports Leadership Conference. The sophomores and juniors participated in leadership activities and sessions with legendary female coaches and leaders from all over the state. Thank you to Julie Sisson, Chelsey Herrmann and MaryLou Jansen for helping facilitate this wonderful experience for our BCHS student leaders! #boyneinspires

Varsity Wrestler and LMC champion at 113 lbs, Mason Riccinto secured the 1st place finish in Charlevoix on Friday! Finn Parish and Deegan Anthony took second in their brackets. The team will travel to Gladstone next for team districts on Wednesday.

On Saturday February 3rd, 26 of our high school band members performed at District Solo and Ensemble Festival at Kingsley High School. All 22 events earned a First or Second Division rating. The 11 events earning Superior ratings have also earned the right to perform at the State Festival. Special recognition goes to soloists Benjamin Ivie, Alizebeth Lewis, Ruby Richards, both of our Brass quartets, and the entire Woodwind Choir for earning all “A”s on their performances! We are proud of all of your hard work and your outstanding performances!
