BCPS renovations funded by the May 2020 bond issue continue this summer to enhance the learning experience for our students.  This is the final construction phase for funds generated by this bond issue.

This summer, the focus is on the preschool.  As you may know, BCPS has expanded its preschool offerings in the past few years, growing from 33 students to over 110 this year.  This program, known as the Early Learners program, serves students two years, nine months through to age five.  All 4-year-olds attend tuition-free Monday - Thursday.  The expansion was created to meet the needs of Rambler families regarding a shortage of daycare in our community.

Renovations will allow three additional preschool classrooms to be added to the program.  A secure entry process will now be enhanced with these improvements.  Classrooms will see new flooring, painting, windows, and cabinetry.  To make space for the new rooms, the administrative offices are being moved to the side of the building near the public library, where the old locker rooms were.  The office relocation makes room for the Early Learners program to grow.

The second floor of the Boyne City Education Center will also be renovated this summer.  The second floor includes the Morgan Shaw School, the technology department, the WIC/Health Department, Head Start offices, and ISD offices.

The renovations should be completed by mid-August to welcome our students and staff back to school to start the 2024/25 school year.
